Identifying factors that structure genomic variation

An increasing number of studies are documenting heterogeneity in measures of genetic variation (both within and between populations) across the genome. We have documented a change in these patterns as the speciation processes continues and use sequence data from public archives and multiple species pairs to study the factors responsible for these phenomena.

Check out our work estimating genetic variation across multiple pairs of songbirds to implicate linked selection and the speciation continuum in generating patterns of genomic variation.
